Childhood memories

This little red cash register at babycakes took me back to 1978.
When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my excited response was that I wanted to be a check-out girl at the grocery store.
The fact that I'd get to punch buttons all day long seemed so dreamy to me.
I should be thankful that I didn't go that route since, among other reasons, these days there would be no button-pushing therapy, only the beeping of the scanner.

Ah...youth....I was so impressed when two friends of mine dropped out of high school to work in a factory -- I wanted to do that too. (thank goodness I didn't)
